Mrs. Linda Hicks (Co-Founder)

Since the inception of Day of Victory Ministry (2000), Linda Hicks has worked in support of the ministry alongside her husband, Linwood Hicks.  She brings to the ministry a revelatory knowledge of the Word of God and a variety of resourceful skills.  With Linda's compassion for children and families she maintains a heartbeat for empowering people to embrace their self-worth through the acceptance of the knowledge of God's unconditional love.

Linda's message of hope and encouragement promotes many to enhance and enrich their lives.  Like her husband, Linda is no stranger to ministry in churches, seminars, small groups, etc.  She often ministers in neighborhoods and is a friend to those casts aside by society.  Linda meets one-on-one with those in need, providing them spiritual, emotional, and financial counsel.  Over the years, Linda has had joyful opportunities to mentor singles and married couples; serve as a license minister, youth director, and participate in community outreach events.

Linda had a significant journey to the land of Israel several years ago.  To explore and discover the history of the Jewish people was one of the most exhilarating experiences in her lifetime.  She refers to it as a "Pilgrimage to Israel."  Since that time, she has participated in a medical mission’s trip to the Dominican Republic. There she served the Dominican people with comfort and encouragement as families and children received medical services from the doctors and nurses during this mission. During church services the people heard inspiring messages about Jesus Christ; Linda and others shared songs of hope and many accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Linda's message in word and song inspires men, women and youth to put their faith in the Lord.  Among her peers, Linda is known for refreshing hearts, promoting dignity and respect for everyone.

Linda has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from East Carolina University, and has an Associate in Arts Degree from Kittrell College.  She is a graduate of Foursquare Bible Institute, has a certification in Discipleship Training Ministry from Evangelism Explosion III International through Dr. James Kennedy and completed courses of study at Greenville International School of Theology.

Linda's employment for varied banks and organizations includes office clerk, secretary, eligibility specialist, and social worker. Her social work career expanded some 30 years. She served her community through her work for the Pitt County Department of Social Services and served with a team of school social workers for Pitt County Schools. Through these supportive services Linda assessed the needs of the elderly and younger population, advocated for children and families, and located resources to ensure their welfare and education needs were met. Other functions include speaking to classes of social work students at East Carolina University, and participating in interviews of high school and college students pursuing careers in social work.

Linda is a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a friend.  She is committed to her husband and family.  She is a transparent role model (a work in progress) for many as she travels this Christian journey.  Like her husband, Linda has a desire to help all she can to know and experience the Love of Jesus Christ.
